Btw, are there compulsory insurances in Russia, Jarlwolf? Like vehicle insurance or life insurances when taking a loan for building/buying a house?

This is common in the US.

That should be illegal except for people high-ranked enough to be able to speak to anyone in the company (all the way up to the CEO, assuming they aren't the CEO) whenever they want and be paid attention to.  (For those cases, it's ok, as that means they're important enough to the company that the company has good reason to hedge against their death and will still take proper care regarding them.)

Insurance for a vehicle is mandatory these days: You cannot own a vehicle without insuring it.
As for houses and other insurance policies, its not mandatory but its highly recommended... vehicle insurance you have no choice for though.

And insurance rates are very bad here- there is reason why people install video cameras on their dashboard, and its for insurance claims; there is a growing problem of insurance fraud here and people jumping out to get into accidents to get high amounts of money, or legitimate accidents and companies not properly complying for the costs. So the popularity of dashboard cameras has soared quite a bit. Its actually why I don't drive much anymore, and just refer to carpooling with my daughter or relying on other modes of transport, like the train systems and such.
