Now to re-arrange one last thing to balance out to color distribution change that caused, and I can get back to hunting down whitey...

Well, you can see what's seeing use and what's not.  Some of the numbers will probably change profoundly as people find the themes, which is thousands of people.  These themes haven't been at a reasonable number and all working for very long, and most pay no attention to chatter in Council Room...

Firaxis seems to be well-received; it was doing half the business of SMAC before.

Enterprise is a dog that would be long-gone to 'a farm in the countryside where it can run and play' by now if Valka wasn't sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch with her trusty phaser rifle in her lap.  Between no logo, no menu pull-downs -thus no way to access things like Downloads- and not having anything to do with Star Trek whatsoever but the name, it needs either a major overhaul to fix all three issues -maybe I can do that, depending on how baroque the mods to the .css are and whether I can find what I need to change- or retirement with extreme sanction.

I wish I could fix the underlining in Thanksgiving in Firefox, as I sense I'd have permission to put away Halloween if I did that; but browser-specific problems are a complete mystery to me.

Man; the jigsaw image atop Enterprise is TALL.  Like Thunderfall designed it, only imaginative.  This is going to be an interesting job...

So, if the Enterprise theme is a dog, it's now had a bath and, after some grooming, turns out to be a purebred show winner. ^This^ just didn't have a lot going for it.

The background is a jigsaw, with corners and repeating middles, eight sections in all.  That put limits on what I could do, and took a while to figure out and get all the replacements to line up just so.  The physical dimensions of those files also determine the margins of the pages - literally; I'd have saved hours -half the day- of searching for margin settings in the .css if I'd known that going in.

It also keeps some files in unique places, and lack the main_block and menu_gfx files all other themes I've worked on use.  I think I'm going ton have to make a menus_gfx.png for the last thing I hope to do.

I found and installed the files for two missing post formatting buttons, and I tracked down invisible link color and corrected.

I figured an easy way to dump the superfluous toppspace-hogging crap, though I had no luck -and wasted hours trying- to bring back the collapse pointer so I could just close them.

But now, here it is, (and I put a number of people known to me to be fans); I present Enterprise:

It's got all the displays and functions working that I want in a keeper theme - except the menu pull-downs.  I've concluded that I'll have to strip out the modded menu to get them back; I think I can get the standard menu to use a patched-together image made for what the mod uses as a background, and make it work right and look almost identical.

-Or break the theme real bad and have to reload the .css it came with from the zip, and loose all the settings I changed today...  [shrugs]  Without risk, there would be none of the themes I've fixed up.  Risk is our business.

...I think stripping out the menu mod is gonna work -but there's a lot of search-and-fiddle left to do to make the original code work again and get the drop-downs back.  A bonus is that I think I can ST up the menu buttons more, once I get things basically working...

The problem's in index.tamplate.php - the pull-down stuff is gone, and I don't know how to put it back.  The whole thing's been restructured, and the syntax is touchy enough when working with something still ordered like the default.

I'm gonna try to put back the menu mod and work with that - I've made a cute modification to the buttons, and I'll apply same to the main menu.

There's still some tweaking left to do on the button proportions, but Enterprise is basically done - until such time as I get some help on the dropdown menus.  (Or figure out what the mirrortab stuff does - I can probably TOS that up, if I knew what it showed.)

Man, I took a little break from Starfleet to add descriptions to themes that had none -since I wrote blurbs for everything (but Redsy, which I suddenly realize I forgot) yesterday for a promotional themes picture album on AC2's Facebook page- and Thanksgiving just REALLY fought me.  It took me a half hour of tweaking that .php before I realized I'd used an apostrophe in my text.  [shakes head]  P-[censored]H-P syntax...

I got onto trying to do something bright and Sulu's-control-panel with buttons like logout in the right sidebar, and post and preview - and it turns out that in Enterprise, that's linked to the background color of the text entry box you type in, which I want pretty light and bland - I don't know about you- so, no-go.

An attempt to end-run that having the buttons cover the background with .gif button images?  Only fit one size -which I expect I could have figured out a fix- and covered the background in the text box with a rectangular pattern, the button image.  Even worse.

So I had to settle for a bright border trick.  It's not Sulu firing the phasers, but still pretty cute.

-And I think I know how to work something like those in elsewhere...

Draz, Inspect Element is not being sufficiently helpful in telling me what's pushing the post view about 10 pixels too far right and making a scrollbar appear...

It's the Facebook comment bar at the bottom in BE, I think - no such problem in a couple of forums that don't have it.
