Favorite feature(s) of SMAC(X)

Please tell us what your favorite part(s) of SMAC(X) are. Mine is the ease of with which you can mod the game.

I like expanding and building - you can play a game where you never declare vendetta, and I do, but they'll declare on you if you wait long enough, then I crush them without mercy.

Also, I like the presence of Native Life. How can you not love those squiggly noodles of death and the concept of Worm Rape? Especially if the worm rape is happening to you.

The worm tells me I love it, but I don't believe the worm.  I find all the 'shut up, beautiful' off-putting, too.  No means no.

I like the different factions - whatever SE choices you make, someone's not going to be happy with you.  I like the Unit Workshop - just wish there were more slots.

I must agree with you that the Unit Workshop is pretty awesome.

I like the fact that not only is there the Social policy thing, you can make your very own factions.

Custom factions is my favorite feature.

My absolute favorite part of the game is the writing and characterization. And I don't just mean the way that characters talk, I mean the whole structure of the game. I love the concepts explored in the technology, secret projects and leader blurbs. That more than anything else sticks with me.

The way altitude and depth is implemented ingame.

Worm Rape

I'd gladly take Worm Rape over this computer class I'm taking. We are using a online classroom type thing and hes reviewing ALL the different fun features that we went over yesterday! Apparently 13 year-olds no longer know what an inbox is!

Keeping with the theme of fun things, I like all the FUN options and play-styles!
