I don’t believe that Kata is going to simply disappear after all those months of playing, so I guess that something has happened and he is unable to play/inform us about. My vote is to wait a little bit longer (till the end of the month?) and then (if he is still missing) go back to the idea of replacement.

So as I understand, you've got much more information than we. I hope that no matter quite uncommon, indirect way of informing us about his retirement, everything is fine with Kata, in that no doubt most important, real world...   

Regarding the replacement, it's a really interesting game, so I believe that not all the players are absolutely sure about all the alliances, entailed details and agreements. Therefore it would be nice to have some objective data transfer from Kata (or from You) to new Provost, instead of publishing all the information here. Of course if it’s possible. If not, we may leave all the decisions to new Provost – like in the real world, new leadership may be equal to new ideas, alliances and conflicts.

Hmm. Hmm indeed. I too hope everything's ok in Kata's world, I'm sure he wouldn't just disappear like that. I just assumed he's busy these days, this game has a slow pace anyway so things like that were bound to happen every now and then. I hope it's not serious with Kata whatever it is...

Coming back to the game - it's not gonna be easy to find a replacement and fill them in. It seems there's nothing much else we can do, although I say let's wait for some time. One thing I learnt in SMAC gaming, no matter how it hurts sometimes - the replacement is never obliged to follow their predecessor's footsteps, once they are briefed. Well, noone is really ever obliged, but you know what I mean - it doesn't amount to betrayal in the case of replacements. I sure wonder how it unfolds... But in the meantime, please exert some patience (we've been playing since May 2013, so come on), Kata's gameplay was important here.

Kata, if you read this, please let us know if we should be worried and if this is definite. Take care there, mate!

I absolutely agree, a replacement changes a game and I did not want to take steps in that direction nor complain. I just wanted to show Kata that it seems to everyone important that he stays in the game and that it would be nice to play on.
I have no problem waiting as long as it takes, since I know RL sometimes takes it toll. Though,anyhow some sort of short message (even one-liner) would be great just to have an idea what it's all about.

Hmm... It's really sad, but it seems that Kata’s decision is definite, so we’ll need a new Provost. I see no problem to wait a bit longer, but I guess it won’t change anything, so it doesn’t make sense. What do you think about?

EDIT: I talked to Yabcok and we compromised (by which I mean, I agreed to everything he said because I have no spine). We agreed that SMAC is not that kewl anymore, probably since kids are way too much into Civ3 or whatever it is people play these days (Open Transport Tycoon?). So not to scare off potential players, I accepted the Co-op ON, only this one time and don't ever mention it again. The Uni is 'free' (snicker, snicker) to pursue victory with his 'friend' (hehe) Yabcok. I will come up with some replacement thread soon when I have free time, hopefully even before my retirement. Gimme a couple of days.
