Do our rules allow for probe teams stealing techs from bases that swap sides due to revolt?

I'm not quite following you; I don't think there is any no-no as to stealing techs in general and base revolts don't change anything here; of course, we'll still be at war.  :D

Theres the old cheese tactic of making a base in the center or rear of your empire so unhappy it may switch sides and join another faction, maybe one with alot of tech. When that happens you can bombard the base with probes and the other player cannot take any action to prevent it. We usually banned this in the past as i recall but maybe it wasnt discussed here. To put it plainly someones base revolted to me, by accident it seems, and im wondering if the rules would cover me if i simply offer it back or i should destroy it, incurring an atrocity.

What we agreed to honour is:

2.11. Taking into consideration that if revolting city join other faction most benefits are often on players who is loosing the city side (among other things: possibility of easy infiltration and stealing techs) it’s needed to put following rules into effect:

a) When player is loosing revolting city in aid of another human player he must ask him if he want the city or not. If not, the player who is loosing the city is obliged to reload the turn until the city will not join (there is about 75% chances the city will not join each time) and then he is obliged to self-destroy (by Obliterate) that city, no matter of consequences (Atrocity). Moreover, all the units that are inside the city have to be disbanded.

b)  When player is loosing revolting city in aid of AI, he is obliged to reload the turn and self-destroy the city and disband all the units in it (just like in case when human player does not want the city).

(full set of rules attached)

Thanks, in that case we await the Captain's decision to accept the city back or destroy it. I sent him a PM

Oh, I completely forgot about that. But wait, doesn't that mean that it is Kata who decides if he wants the city or not? And if you don't, Kata, Arma is obliged to reload his turn.

That is true kirov, for some reason i thought gifting the base pre-accepted was part of the rules language. Complete misread. In that case i guess arma can reload the turn(although maybe its more expedient to simply promise to not probe the base and accept it as a gift in diplomacy window)

What kind of problems  :o
Ok, as far as I understood i have to deicde if accept the city back as a gift in a diplomatic way or not. In that case I would say I accept or do I have to self-destroy it anyhow?

I don't think we can trade bases in the diplomacy screen, at least I fail to see any UI option for that. Arma, you need to reload your turn until the revolt doesn't happen and then you need to manually destroy that base, as Kata doesn't seem keen to the prospect of holding it. :)

The base is called Zur Landrette if that helps. And yes, there seems to be no way to send bases to a human...odd, since you can do so with the AI i thought it was the same here.

Yeah, I was surprised myself that it's not an option, now I'm thinking it would be too prone to clever abuse in the case of perma alliances - swapping bases when you see a probe incoming, sharing them with Domai for industry or with a pop-boom-capable faction, this kind of stuff. So I guess it's for the better. Only now this forces Arma to reload. Arma, could you do that so we can get going on? This game is dying anyway, let's try to speed up the pace as much as RL allows.

Otherwise we'll have no choice that to call the current Governor the winner.  :D

Use the scout patrol inside, if any, and hit B or Shift+B, I don't remember. Of course, you will incur an atrocity and sanctions, but I'm afraid that's mandatory to do.

Okay, the rebellious city has been blown away from the planet's face. Just for the sake to speed up the game  :o
Here's the reload, v2.

It seems we have two prophets onboard. One with, and one without funny hat on his head, but still two of them... :)

The Warrior's bland acronym, MMI, obscures the true horror of this monstrosity. Its inventors promise a new era of genius, but meanwhile unscrupulous power brokers use its forcible installation to violate the sanctity of unwilling human minds. They are creating their own private army of demons.
