EPIC NERD RAGE QUIT POWERS ACTIVATED!
« on: January 11, 2013, 08:47:20 AM »
You got to love MMOs. I had decided to do another foray into Eve Online.

Long story short, the CEO (clan leader) of our particular corporation gets into it with an allied corp over stupid stuff. He then empties out all our in game assets, declares war on that corp, puts bounties on them so anyone can shoot them and get money. Nevermind none of us are combat pilots. We could not shoot anything unless it is an asteroid we want to turn into minerals.

BUT--- to top it off:

Lumani Dahma > i will be ok
Memmy Solette > star quit?
Niveuss Nye > epic nerd rage worthy of legend
Niveuss Nye > in a nutshell: he got into it with requiem dudes then drains out all corp funds and war decs them and bounties them...
Niveuss Nye > anyone got popcorn?
Memmy Solette > well that sucks
Niveuss Nye > indeed.... if you are in WH, it not only sucks but does anal, too...
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Hello Boys and girls
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Mosi you are now the leader
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Wow am i feeling a little Bit of Cold Sholder Here
Niveuss Nye > epic nerd rage powers activate
Niveuss Nye > lol
Star-Citizen Yatolila > XD
Niveuss Nye > not bad..... still does not top WoW RP guilds
Star-Citizen Yatolila > XD - i could of done more if i had the time and Gave a [poop] XD
Niveuss Nye > Chaotic needed to fly your wife over from Aussie... like the one guild I was in. Now... that was epic...
Niveuss Nye > Yeah one member slept with 2 officers and got preggers with the GM... the drama was epic
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Oh mosi Come on that cost me 50 mill man
Niveuss Nye > All the stuff in nulll costs more :D Not that i will see any of it
Niveuss Nye > err..WH
Star-Citizen Yatolila > mmhmm i guess no one see's why i did what i did - like i said in the mail you want to know why talk to me on Fb o7
Star-Citizen Yatolila > so i take it this account will be removed from this corp tomorrow
Star-Citizen Yatolila > well i see the Respect you guys have for is the same The [ladyparts, sissies] in requiem had for our corp
Niveuss Nye > Well... you could have calculated your revenge with more style....
Star-Citizen Yatolila > yeah true, but style had nothing to do with it, i spent all my money i had to make them pay for making promise's they could not keep
Niveuss Nye > ...and remember what I told you about the WoW guild target of takeover scheme stories in that meeting.... It never was about "helping" but them having numbers to do what they needed to do. Just like the 40 mans of vanilla WoW.
Niveuss Nye > hoewver.. if someone was helped, all the better
Star-Citizen Yatolila > i understand, it aint about the there "help" its there lack in giving a [poop] - and there lack in doing any thing about it
Star-Citizen Yatolila > but hell Mosi thinks there still good people to be allied with so why dont we all just stay around and see them use this corp more
Niveuss Nye > They are not too bad. Serious about thier isk, yeah. But all MMOs are like that. But, lets face it... yall did go in there half baked and under manned.
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Due to Requiem Demanding us too - you for get that every day we were not in Wh space Chaotic would be Begging me fore Half an hour telling me to get you guys in there
Star-Citizen Yatolila > and i gave in as he promised protection
Star-Citizen Yatolila > and there was none
Niveuss Nye > But.... as a corp you set the tempo. I was not going till astrometrics IV, Cov ops, and a retriever :) What are they going to do if I don't? Come to Leva and pod me? I dictate how I play... and so should a guild/corp.
Star-Citizen Yatolila > this is true, i guess it was me willing to prove them wrong by telling them we were not ready and them pushing us bad things would happen
Star-Citizen Yatolila > and it did it pushed me to no longer give a [poop] about this Game XD
Star-Citizen Yatolila > and its [jerk, sphincter]'s of people that kill you any where you go
Niveuss Nye > Sad it takes other people to make a decision like that for you. I like to make my own. But still, 7/10 for nerd rage. 2/10 for style.
Niveuss Nye > Well..... this game is like poker.
Star-Citizen Yatolila > So would me taking a a plane to his house and Cutting his Neck i nthe middel of the night please you - would that incress your score
Star-Citizen Yatolila > Damn i cant stand you [intercourse gerund] retards any more
Star-Citizen Yatolila > [fuddle-duddle] you all

Niveuss Nye > ooookayy....
Niveuss Nye > lol

Anyone ever rage quit or have stories of aspies getting mad over a video game?

I am amused by the autofilter once again...but I understand little of the EVE talk.

Clans suck as a general rule in my experience.

IF you are into gaming (2 hours a day or so) I would suggest The Amazon Basin.  No idea if they extend into EVE right now.  I know they are active in Diablo and Guild Wars, likely WOW and wouldn't surprise me if there were others.  While I was there for their beginnings, I haven't been active for more than 10 years.

IF, however, you ever run into someone named Beast (sometimes with xxxBeastxxx or similar to get the name) as the leader of a clan, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.  I have witnessed her do similar to several clans in Diablo II and Guild Wars.

Uno, I have a love/hate relationship with Eve.

On one hand, all the stuff you can do to other people is fascinating. No one beats Eve for drama except RP guilds on WoW.

On the other hand, all the stuff folks can do to you is fascinating.

You can actually lose everything in this game, unlike other MMOs.

The thing about this was that in Eve, all the corporation isk has RL money value. It was not much, maybe 30 to 50 bucks. But, it also stopped us from making (as much) money and could have put us in a costly war that we did not have the assets, manpower, or skills to fight.

Fortunately, all the other members had actual corporation stock and we did get one of the officers to take over. Plus, I liked the guys over in that other corp. They amuse me on teamspeak. Sucked when I logged on before checking Eve and they apologized but said I could not chat with them anymore because Star was being selfish. I was more mad about that than the funds or not being able to go to Wormhole space. Others ended up with millions of assets trapped way the hell out there with no notice.

Yeah..filter is funny as hell.

I try to avoid "drama" in my gaming.  Hence my "guilds suck" attitude.

I also don't do pay to play games, which Eve started as but may have altered (seems to be a new fad for games to go free to play but make you buy inventory or stuff)

GW2 has an official buy in game money, so there is cash value, sorta (you can't make real money cash, but you can buy upgrades that would otherwise cost real money).  I've made enough in game cash in that to buy my account a lot of perks (more character slots, inventory, etc), though, which is really nice.  They lost my attention with a recent update, though, so my motivation to play is really lax these days.

Eve is kinda weird in the way it does subscriptions.

If you make tons of in game cash, you can play for free. They have something they call PLEX. Each PLEX is 500 mil. It is also an in game item. When you buy this on thier website, you can redeem this and put it on market for other players to buy. Alternatively, you can convert it into 30 days game time. You can also convert it into stuff like graphics cards, etc. It has cash value. Every 500 mil is worth about 15 USD RL money.

The reason him messing up our adventures in Wormhole space is because of this. With the cash you get in wormhole, it is very possible many of us could have been playing for free that next month if we hustled.

Yeah, sounds similar to the Guild wars system.  X # Gems cost $10 and can be traded for in game stuffs, including in game gold with a supply/demand system fluctuating how much in game gold they are worth.  I was able to do some buy low/sell high when I first got the game to get ~$50 in upgrades for free.

Eve sounds too much like a job.

Keep in mind years ago, something like that would have been attractive to me as I was in the top 10 on diablo II ladders, I just don't have time for that kind of gaming anymore...because I'm too busy sculpting wierd things to display one night a year, admittedly.  Gaming probably makes more sense.

Any MMO can be a job if you let it.

I think a lot of the issue to make that in game cash has to do with the way it was set up.

Take for instance what our corp did. Wormhole space is "uncharted" space. In order to get there, you have to scan down systems with special equiptment to fing the entrance. Catch is that there are literally thousands of these wormhole systems that exist and the openings that go to them spawn almost randomly throughout all of known Eve space - which is even larger. If you do not have someone in that wormhole system at all times, you can lose the entrance and possibly never return.

That said, there is lots of money to be made there. There are NPC ships called the sleepers. If you shoot and salvage the wrecks, you end up with extremely valuable components that can be used to make expensive and high demand ships called tech 3 strategic cruisers if you have the skills to make them or just sell these components on the market. There are also hidden asteroid belts with expensive ores, rare gases, and archeological finds. Thing is, getting all that stuff out where you can sell it with your ship and self in one piece. The sleepers themselves are no joke and takes a team with good combat and communications skills. Not to mention, there are players that like to scan down wormhole entrances to shoot folks indiscriminately.

Making matters worse is a few things: You can not control where the exit to the system appears, there is no place to sell wares while there, and you really need to put a station out there. The exit can go anywhere. It can go to another wormhole system, a pirate infested area, near a market hub, or right smack dab in the middle of a sytem where there is a huge interstellar war with thousands of players duking it out 50 jumps from anything.

Oh yeah.. and the station you need to store stuff while you wait on an acceptable entrance/exit is a pain. Not only is it expensive, it has to be fueled to stay in orbit. You have to import all that stuff.

They bit off more than they could chew.

From the ashes... at least an officer or two is stepping up.

The current situation
From: Mosi Pareka
Sent: 2013.01.11 23:38
To: Transit - Mining - Refining - Production,

Hello everybody,

As many of you many know TMRP has had some major issues with management. The story is long and complicated, but the fact is that TMRP's founder, Star, and Vice CEO, Mantreise have decided to quit playing Eve. This leaves myself as the current CEO of TMRP. Although I wish it were under different circumstances, I am happy to lead you all to the best of my ability.

Unfortunately, the style of Star's departure was rather . . . messy, and left a lot of problems in its wake. The corporation itself is damaged beyond repair in my opinion, but there is still a way that we can work through this; I will start a new corporation.

You are all welcome to join, and I encourage you to do so. There will be several changes to the structure and goals; enough that it shouldn't be thought of as TMRP 2.0, but rather a completely new corporation. Due to the game mechanics I can't found the corporation at this moment, but within a few days it should be operational and you can apply to join if you so choose.

Until then, I appreciate your patience and resolve during this strange incident.

If you have any questions contact either myself of Lumani.

As always, fly safe.

Now... I will probably go with them, maybe not. I like folks that actually talk in chat and many of these guys do not. So, over the next day or so, I will weigh my options.

That's about the only thing that's sounded fun to me in all of that.  ;)

You know, I should really do an "Adventures of Niveuss Nye" thread. Hell, I have already done 2 and a half AARs on Alpha Centari. While Eve Online gameplay may not be some of you guy's cup of tea (most of us/yall are modder fanatics or wargamers), you must admit the stories of Eve are amusing as hell.

It's true of comics, TV, AARs, a lot of things - when all else fails, you can always write the soap opera parts.

I would not need to embellish anything. Eve folks are the undisputed masters at drama.
