But I thought scrambling interceptors were always deemed to be attackers.   Maybe not?

I got a rising water message:  66M over next 20 years.

I thought that Yitzi's patch was supposed to stop that junk.  I guess we don't have it configured correctly.  Can anyone tell us exactly what to do to prevent future rising water (and is it possible to abort this rising water).  I don't like all of the micromanagement rising water requires.

Alien life seems to be going a bit nuts.   Lots of attacks this turn.

Sorry, you would have to ask Yitzi on that.

I looked up Yitzi's post on this, and he said:

"If I want to NEVER have rising water, what settings do I need to set on alphax?

Where it says "Numerator/Denominator for frequency of global warming (1,2 would be "half" normal warming)", change that to 0,1.  Then there will be no rising water unless the council votes to make the water rise."

So, Roninscg, please edit you aphax.txt file, and make sure the line looks like this:

"0, 1     ; Numerator/Denominator for frequency of global warming (1,2 would be "half" normal warming). {0 to 32767, 1 to 32767}"

This is the exact line from my file.

I don't think this will stop the global warming that has already been announced, but at least we can hopefully avoid more of it.

I don't think there is anything else we need to configure.  I think we automatically get the bug fix where green facilities were causing extra mind worms.  I believe that is an integral part of the 2.2 patch.

Also, let's make sure we are using the same patched exe.  I am running terranx.exe  that has a date modified of 8/8/2013 at 10:26 PM.

You should sell the infrastructures unless you plan to hold the city for the long haul, especially ones you have duplicated with secret projects.  I think it is slimy and despicable, and I would have already done it :).

As for the terranx.exe file, this could just reflect when we extracted it from the zip.  We should ask Yitzi to use definitive version labels on the exe, so that we make sure we are both running the same patch level.  I think the date is close enough, that we are probably running the same version.

I don't feel comfortable reposting Yitzi's patched exe (I don't have explicit permission to do so), so I would suggest you download Yitzi's very latest patched version, and see what the date says on that.  And I can do likewise, since I don't think I am using the 2.3 patch either.  Shall we both move to this version for both of our games.  I think this is best.  This minimizes the chances of bugs and other issues cropping up.

Yitzi's unofficial SMAX patch 2.3

http://alphacentauri2.info/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=149

I copied all of the new patch files, including alphax.txt, so if you do the same, you will have to remodify alphax.txt to change the global warming to 0, 1 again.  (I reedited also.)

Yitzi, please add a version number to the terranx.exe, so we can easily check which version of your patch we are using.  Thanks!

Thanks for the update!   I thought I had looked up the latest version number, but I guess I was on the wrong thread.  Here I go again ...

We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?
