Although the anarchist in me thinks it would be absolutely hilarious for us to have to recover from a massive flood this early. But, I do not think you guys would share my sick sense of humor.

Maybe we could save a pop or two around our bases and use it or just threaten to if somebody decides to invade. "Stay away from me or I'll take your bases with me."  Yeah, I think I'm going to go with that. Guys, one step into my territory and I'm triggering my wunderpods.

Yeah, I wanted to ask you about that volcano thing. There is no such event on the pod list. Did you get the following message?

It appears a new volcano has erupted!

If so, then it's another occurence of this bug. Seems not only me and Green1 anymore. I wonder if there is any pattern to it...

BTW, how are things in Minnesota? Are good docs any wiser on your condition?

I think that was from a deal in another thread where I was talking about a MMO forum community that strictly enforced certain postings. Worse than Wikipedia.

Do not worry. Game is very early. Give us about 75 rounds, then the trash will commence. I am also sure there is stuff going on in PMs. Myself, I am fixing to find out how good or bad I am compared to veteran players. They may have an idea of my style, but I have no idea of theirs.

It is also a challenge that in both MP games I am in, I have taken over for other folks. These are not usually factions I play with. But, Deidre has has been out in the woods meditating on what to do  on two worlds full of psychopaths. Between visions of world ending floods, she hopes a vision of being the last (wo)man standing comes to be.

Making matters more nerve wracking is the quality of players we face.

But... you bet. 2 years from now when this is finished, I happen to pull this off. Gloating ... will... happen.

I have to see this, I just can't imagine you trash-talk anyone. And I can't recall any of my SMAC games when trash-talk appeared, I guess because the average age here is slightly higher than in the World of Warcraft?

OK, that's technically not true as I did scold one player who was super duper annoying to me for a long stretch of turns (we had to establish cooperation against the third player, and my would-be ally just kept making his ridiculous demands like "I give you Polymorphic Software, you give me IA", claiming it was a very fair deal).  I was clenching my teeth for a long time before finaly snapping and telling him off in stern words. But this was after I sent several messages that his being very unreasonable offends my intellect (which was a very nice way of putting things). So there is that. Apart from that, there was no trash in my games.

Oh, there's trash-talk and then there's trash-talk.  The sort of junk you and t_ras talk in your 1v1 is what I'm meaning.

I adds a lot of spectator value when TTTs have some harmless/silly chatter in them.  I read everything posted, and TTTs with a little personality are so much better.

Oh, so that was trash-talk. My only experience with trashing was my brief gameplay in Starcraft 2, where it seems that every time I was winning, I somehow started to come across as a homosexual (either that or they thought I'm a cigarette).

Of course I know this kind of stuff never actually happens in AC, but usually I don't even indulge in any kid of posturing or chest-thumping. As the Russians say, 'tishe 'edesz, dal'she budesh' - the quieter you go, the farther you get. Sure it sounds conformist, but I found out that in games it's better to feign inferiority than to feign superiority. But maybe it's just me.

It's not just you.  It's a thing I don't do much because I tend to get carried away.  And I'm too good at trolling for anyone's good, and don't want to look like the jerk I can be.  And those Russians are right.

I still enjoy a little gentlemanly mild taunting discourse when I check TTT's though...
