Good man.

...That should be standard practice for everyone involved in a(n) MP game(s), mind you, who does not come by every single day and read every new post in MP.  -And even that assumes you at least check your email daily; I would think people who don't even do that are going to tend to screw up games for everyone else...

Bad thing is, I have been posting in the Well meet soon game regularly so I have been here at least every other day. This game has been moving quite a bit slower.

Guys, the first one I reloaded 'cause I forgot the password (I mean I used the old one).

However, I need to ask you to allow me to replay my second game. I popped a pod just 2 tiles away from my 2nd base and I got a message that there are "tidal waves bla bla Sparta Command has been swept away"! I lost my HQ and the entire patch of jungle I had around. I swear I've never lost a base due to a pod and I didn't even know that's possible. I want someone to take a look at it (after my turn), but I also need to reload if I'm not to give up in like 10 turns (HQ and jungle down, I mean come on). So I'm asking you to be understanding, I know it's supposed to be random and all, but I've just suffered what amounts to that infamous meteor strike random event there is (I've never experienced it first-hand), and at this point of the game... :( Poor me.

I have seen the meteor event, but never this early. That would be almost like the barbarian uprising event in Civ 4 where it spawns 4 spearmen on your border when you only have a warrior and maybe an archer. A lot of folks on Civ fanatics griped about that.

There are several things here which make it a weird situation I can hardly understand and just play on. First is, it was just 2 tiles away from my base and you have a decreased chance of 'bad' pops (worms and fungal blooms) this near. Second thing, I'd accept and go along with any other possible pop, including earthquakes (God I hate them), blooms, worms and the like (I play Sparta, for chrissake). But I can't possibly recover from this situation I have.

There is also another issue: I was right I've never seen this kind of flood, it's not even on the list of pod effects:

http://sidmeiersalphacentauri.wikia.com/wiki/Supply_pods

??? I simply don't get it. Can we play this turn one ahead to confirm that I actually have a swimming pool for my HQ? I mean I know what I saw, but the cold facts are it couldn't happen. I curse myself for not taking any screenshots, but I was too surprised to react in a methodic way.

I checked the script.txt and no, there is no such outcome and I'm pretty sure the dialog I got was this:

#BASESUBMERGED1
#xs 440
#caption Chief Planetologist
Tidal waves near $BASENAME0! $BASENAME0 has been submerged and lost!

I have no idea how this could happen. I'd like to play one turn to see it was not a dream, but I'd be also grateful for a reload.

I have meet this issue, but never this early in the game. I think we are early enough for you to replay and never open this pod.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did open that turn yesterday one more again to check that pod and it worked fine, i.e. it's not corrupted in any way.

I'm still waiting for others to confirm I can replay, meanwhile I did just that and the files are attached.

And t_ras, what do you mean you have seen it? The game files are very clear that it can't happen. For a moment I thought maybe my game is damaged, fragmented files or something, but it still would be the first time any corrupted file behaved like that instead only simply crash.

As we approached we were confronted by the ruined splendor of Sparta Command. The true immensity of the place became instantly apparent as our Quantum Tank crunched over the rubble and parked next to a shattered bunker, but the extent of the destruction took weeks to assess. The shielded datacore had sustained several massive breaches and smoke still billowed from the numerous cannon ports. There were few signs of human life.
