Soooo...

it turns out if you save the game at the end of a turn, proceed to the next turn, have a notification pop up for a base having built something, go to the base screen, and then load the save from the end of the previous turn, your other bases won't be reset - they can grow, build units, base facilities, and secret projects, and then accumulate research points and energy credits. If you then save this new end-of turn configuration, proceed to the next turn again, and load the new save of the "previous" turn, you can proceed ad infinitum for infinite research points, energy credits, and production.

I stumbled across this "bug" while trying to replay a defensive battle against mindworms (didn't want to lose my base garrison) - the odds were against me winning, so I saved the game at the end of the turn, pressed enter, watched the battle (I lost), and then spammed ctrl+l and enter, since some of my bases finished production the next turn - and ended up finding a freshly-built unit I didn't remember having before. I didn't actually think much of that, thinking I must have just skipped over it earlier - I moved it, saved the game again (so I wouldn't have to move it again when I inevitably reloaded after my garrison died next turn), and proceeded to the next turn - garrison died again, I spammed ctrl+l, and suddenly one of my bases had finished a rec. commons. and that's when I started to catch on - I tried to deliberately reproduce the effect, and it worked.

Naturally, my next thought was, "This is utterly broken, you can easily win the game like this - maybe I should try that." So I did.

Huge Map of Planet, Transcend Difficulty, Look First on, Believers.

I decided to go for a transcendence victory, because I find the thought of Miriam winning a transcendence victory in M.Y. 2110 hilariously ironic.

As for the results, well, they speak for themselves.

Step-by-Step How-to Guide:

1. Go to Menu>Game>Warning Preferences, and turn everything on
2. Have at least 2 bases. (Base A, which was built first/is your starting base, and Base B, which is your second base)
3. Have Base A finish building anything next turn.
4. Play until the end of your turn.
5. Save the game.
6. Proceed to next turn.
7. Base A will finish building, causing a pop-up to appear. Select "go to base screen".
8. While in the base screen, load your save from step 5.
9. Save the game. (I recommend just overwriting the old save file, since renaming can get quite tedious)
10. Repeat steps 6-9.
11. ???
12. Profit - Base B will accumulate minerals, nutrients, and energy - it will build things, grow, and produce labs and money.

A few notes:
- applies to any hypothetical Base C you might build after Base B as well
- doesn't work for units (you can't suddenly move units again)
- units Base B (and later) builds can move
- if you know what Base A is going to build beforehand (i.e. you have even minimal planning skills), you don't need to turn on all warning notifications
- doesn't seem to work for the AI
- Base A has to be the first base you built, not the base with the Headquarters base facility
- if Base B is the one causing the popup, Base A will be reset, but Base C won't (works for bases built after the one with the popup)
- you can probably win the game in M.Y. 2101 with a good start (on a river), or as Svensgaard
- turn sounds off, or "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" - "Turn Complete" - "Production Complete" will haunt you for the rest of your days

My gift to industry is the genetically engineered worker, or Genejack. Specially designed for labor, the Genejack's muscles and nerves are ideal for his task, and the cerebral cortex has been atrophied so that he can desire nothing except to perform his duties. Tyranny, you say? How can you tyrannize someone who cannot feel pain?
