transferring units

Is there any way to prevent an ally from transferring units to you?  ;deidre; especially, has this habit of giving me units for a small base so that the previously built or transferred units are disbanded due to lack of minerals.

There's no user settable option for it anywhere in the game or in any *.txt file, if that's what you're asking.

I have no idea if binary modders would consider it an easy thing to deal with or not.

That's what I was afraid of. I couldn't find anything but I hoped that other wiser players might have found one. Thanks.

My understanding is that the newly transferred units are the first to be disbanded, so there's no net disturbance to one's planning. Transferred units can often be a boost to one's defenses, allowing one to relocate and home units to other bases. Of course, they can also be disbanded for resources. Finally, the AI is pretty predictable about where they'll be transferring units, so one can change resource allocation to make room for new units. Probably none that is a revelation, though.

they can also be disbanded for resources.

Not until they've made it to a base.  Which might not be any time soon.  That's what sucks about the transfers.  They'll just rob your nearest city of minerals unless you give up all these 'gift' units for nothing.

That is not what I have found. Usually, older unite are disbanded for lack of resources, and those are the ones which I have moved to where I want them.

Yeah I couldn't swear in court to one way or the other either.  Nor if SMAC is different from SMACX.
