Sure, let's do that, with direct research this time. I imagine it will still be vital to grab early FM, but bad luck will be ruled out.

I'd like to ask Mart to prepare the game, but we need to agree on a few things first - do we play 1 or 2 factions each? I noticed an interesting side effect - with 2 factions, you don't want to commit atrocities. Not that I was ever thinking about doing so. :D

I really like the 2-faction setup, but with a CMN, I think all in all it's better to have just one faction with many starting colony pods and formers. Otherwise, we need to find well-balanced pairs of factions for each game. There was just no chance of Zak+Hive catching up technologically with Morgan+Aki.

I can agree to a smaller map if you want to. I'm all for early conflict, just not with our respective HQs being 4 tiles away from each other.

we can go with two factions, but like this
first player Selects 1,4 and second player 2,3,
(but if you agree, I would allow to be chosen the same faction)
with CMN,he can modify veteran map if you agree or create new map for us. you choose?

starting colony p. from 1 to 4
            formers 1 to 4
            scaut p. 1 to 8
            special unit for faction 1
that is ok for me.

ban faction?
ban SP?
ban or limit unit?

Well, the vet map is one idea, why not (I have played it only once, actually, and many years ago). I thought you'd like a smaller map for earlier contact, to which I would agree.

Let's make it an accelerated start with 4 colony pods and 4 formers (but let's remember that this changes the balance in favour of tech-impaired factions like Miriam).

What do you mean by "a special unit for faction 1"?

My tradition is to ban EG and CBA and I'm all about nerfing air power to the extent acceptable to you. I'll be honest with you - recently when I was playing Civ6, it dawned on me that I simply hate supply crawlers and air units in SMAC and I think they're the scourge of this game. I know people like them, but they're wrong. So think how much nerfing you can take and I'm for that (restricting attack on choppers to A4 is absolute minimum in my opinion).

Maybe instead of choosing factions, we can agree on balanced pairs? Like, maybe Zak+Hive would be equal to Aki+Drone.

You can convince me to your preferred option, I'm open to suggestions. A deatchmatch is like we have the same faction? Or a faction with no profile? Maybe we can do it after we do a real 2v2.

So we have all the techs and energy is useful only for money? Guess that means a bump to factions like Sparta or Miriam. I can take Sparta as one of my factions just to see what happens (her -1 IND still sucks, but let's give her a try)

What you do is design a copter with best weapon/nerve gas in turn 1. build it and send towards enemy, it will probably attack with damage 40% from travel, but it should be enough to destroy all the bases (2 normally when playing with 2 colony pods). My game lasted like 4 turns?

Have I played it with you Kirov? And you were faster?

Nope, I can't recall it and I've never played it. But now that you say that, it does seem like the only possible option to do. Roninscg, what do you think? We either scrap this idea altogether or come up with house rules to go around this issue.

And this is what I mean that air power ruins this game.

vet map is big, it will not reach the base copter and you have AAA trops also
