Another funny bug or feature - this time with TECHSTEAL

You play TECHSTEAL faction (maybe Spoils of War also count). You capture a base. Base screen opens. Former owner rings you and proposes truce over base's return. You agree. Faction color in the base screen changes to his. Then pops up a selection of tech to steal. You choose - and former/current base owner angrily breaks the truce due to your "persistent meddling". Unfortunately, I hadn't checked if Esc at tech selection cancels the steal. If so, then this sequence of events can be regarded as feature - you choose what you prefer to have, tech or truce. If not, then this probably is a bug.

Still a bug.  If they had intended to provide you with a legitimate choice of "steal or no steal", they wouldn't have made you jump around with an obscure ESC dance.  They would have given you an explicit confirmation dialog.  Specifically, they would have asked you if you really wanted to break the Truce.  I've been bitten by these "takeover timing" bugs before.
