When I was a kid, we once Vacationed to Franklin and surroundings.  Had also done Stone Mountain, Lookout Mnt and had seen Rock City...  Got some minor rubies from Ruby Falls and My sister cut her foot on a sharp rock in the river (near Franklin) and had to have a stitch or two, IIRC.

Ahh, the old KOA campgrounds....

Radar looks like we're about 20 miles west of the edge of the storminess, and it's past us now.  Must be a lot less rain on the trailing edge than leading.

You might find the Appalachian Adventures thread from early 2014 in this folder rewarding to search out look at - GeoModder posted a lot of pictures of sights in easy driving range of the Buster family estate.
