I guess its not because of support-costs? In that case you could give the units another homebase to get the minerals in this specific one up.

Well, it was Buncle's ironic musical offering on the subject of maidenhood that inspired me   

So while I am wearing my pointy hat and veil, gazing out over the misty hills of Avalon Planet sighing and watching for you riding in, Eadee, I have kicked off the impact prototype and trapped the Uni incursors with ZoC. It won't do, but it's the best on offer.

Gotta love blind research when up against an over-powered "quarrelsome" AI while pressed with our backs to the coast and no white knight (ahem) on the horizon.
