I could set it up now? Given Misotu's comment we could set the map to 'average' on all, I do not think people are wont to disagree.

I am calling with a friend tonight who probably would not mind keeping the passwords, I will ask him them (obviously we can play before then).

I have set it up, so I hope everybody is OK with it.

I have chosen the format "jangame-[name]-MY", I hope that is OK.

(Obviously in the future we must make sure we never start a game in January ever again to avoid save game confusion.)

I beg your pardon but...if we didn't give the passwords, what prevents everybody to look at the saves?

Forgive me if I am wrong, but you set the password the first turn you play, unless you want me to PM the first turns the first ones will never have a password.

I mean, do set a password when you start your turn. I just figured we can play a few turns before making sure someone has all the passwords.

Ah, ok!
I didn't know because I always played a game prepared by someone external to the pool of players.
No problem then.

Lady Dee has managed to download her file by sitting on top of a hill in an olive grove. This suits her love of nature etc etc but there will be a delay until she returns to base, plays, and walks back up the hill again ...

Apologies. We are nagging the internet people here like mad but it's very manana in this part of the world ...

Funny thing is, I know that the moment Eadee gets his hands on the turn I'll have it within minutes, so I am watching the thread almost as eagerly.

Well, the good news is that yesterday we moved and we are now approximately 20 feet from an internet access point.

The bad news is that their server promptly went down yesterday   ::)  But it is up again this morning and we seem to have a nice snappy connection which bodes well for future turns.

I've just popped the only pod in my flat, riverless start point. It did not give me a monolith or anything useful at all. This is going to be *hard*   :)

Hopefully should be a lot faster on the turns now, sorry for holding things up.

The righteous need not cower before the drumbeat of human progress. Though the song of yesterday fades into the challenge of tomorrow, God still watches and judges us. Evil lurks in the datalinks as it lurked in the streets of yesteryear. But it was never the streets that were evil.
