Anyone else play games like Sim city? Cities skylines is pretty good. One trick I've used is passenger paths can be built underground.
It greatly helps reduce traffic. Another trick is spiral roads. It helps reduce traffic lights but would drive people insane in real life.

I was playing SimCity 4. It is quite a game, so I never built any large metropolis, but that game for a builder is awesome.
There were very interesting upgrades made by fans.

SC5, haven't tried that yet, but if they have demo, I will.

Dominion online.
Deadly Rooms of Death.
Master of Orion (which can give SMAC/X tough competition for the title of "greatest 4X game of all time", but ultimately loses out on story)

I played the original Sim City a fair bit a long time ago, but none of the sequels since...

I like that sort of thing, but some element of conflict and story makes it a lot better, thus how I play SMACX...

Recently have gone back to Star Trek Online. I still suck at it.

I, personally, have sworn off MMOs. That is, unless I want to be single again and just work and sleep.

That said, I do keep track of them. They may have some feature added in the future that may bring me back. I am thinking more sandboxy, more immersion, less grind or doing same content over and over while not needing to spend a part time job to do it. Now, I do play 4xs which can be time consuming, but there are limits to my gaming time.

I don't spend much time learning anything and fart around as the whim takes me, be it 5 minutes or a couple of hours here and there.

Given how buggy 3 and NV were on ps3 and I'd need new hardware for 4, not at all.

Fallout is like a single player MMO. Its looks cool, but my next purchase may be Blood Bowl 2. I have been watching an unhealthy amount of matches on Youtube featuring various Youtube pundits in a tournament.

Only thing keeping me from shelling out money on it is that there are only 8 teams (plus 2 DLC) and not the 20 something that were in the last incarnation of Blood Bowl.

In case you do not know what it is, it is a TBS  combination of American Football, Chess, and Warhammer.

I'm a warhammer player from way back. Never got into Blood Bowl much though.

It's actually pretty cool. The premise is that the Warhammer races ended up with a mysterious tome - an "Amerokan Football" rule book and the NFL is now a god called "nuffle". All differences are settled through Blood Bowl. It's pretty violent and there are teams like Elves that actually play a running and passing game while other teams like Chaos try to just kill the opposing team, ignoring the ball. Your players get star player points to progress by making plays or causing injuries or deaths. Even the crowd gets in on the act. If you push a player off the field, the crowd beats the snot out of them. You can also bribe refs and such.

Success and failure are based on dice rolls using two dice.

Here's an example of good gameplay

Anyone else play planetbase? The idea is simple you have a small group of colonists a robot or to and some supplies.
Your job is to build a colony with this. Its amazing how a game can be so engaging yet so frustrating at the same time.

Anyone else play planetbase? ...
I just watched demo movie on steam.
It reminds me somewhat between Outpost 1.5 and Space Colony, a sim for ... teenagers?
Outpost was actually quite a game, if they only had completed it...
For years I haven't seen a good space colonization game/city builder/colony builder/terraforming sim.

The chief aim of their constitution and government is that, whenever public needs permit, all citizens should be free, so far as possible, to withdraw their time and energy from the service of the body, and devote themselves to the freedom and culture of the mind. For that, they think, is the real happiness of life.
