Glad to see a game progressing fast enough!  :)
With 5 humans players, I didn't think it was possible...

Well, hate to be your mood-killer, but I'm afraid these 10 turns don't really show anything. The chances of fast game completion with all 5 players on board are next to zero. Damn, really sorry to say that. Although it's just too true.

Thanks for reminding me that. In this game I was thinking about roleplaying a bit, I mean actual in-game decisions.  :D

I'm well aware of that, but still!

If timezone progression is respected, there's no reason we couldn't advance 1 turn a day.

Now I'm not going out much so it's not a problem for me to check e-mail and make a turn once in ~12 hours. But I don't want anyone to feel bad about not being the fastest one. The reason I'm playing a PBEM game is because I want to RELAX, to have an additional SOMETHING that isn't time-consuming but can engage my mind for some time. A sand-box, a persistent online universe with its own history. I actually want this to unfold slowly so I can get attached and develop a relationship with a virtual state. Maybe one day someone will have to go away for a week or two. I don't mind. I just want the game to be finished and I don't mind if someone takes a break for a while. We are humans, we have our own lives and we are doing it for fun, right? For now it looks like we have a dedicated team. Thumbs up!

No problem.
However it would be cool if someone away for more than 2 days warns in advance.

Gaians capture their first mindworm... Beware!

1) Do you guys think that with time we will be able to establish something like Planetary Map and Planetary News Network containing public, unclassified material? Would be nice to share some info, have a map were we can show off our borders, gains and loses.

2) It sounds that PBEMs are so rare to finish that there should a world-wide record of all finished games! :) Did anyone heard about PBEM with 7 players that was finished?

3) -> Capitalist swine  ;morgan; [edit: joke!]

Sorry guys, didn't notice the turn.

Re 1) I've never done something like this; we can think about it once we get this game established more.

Re 2) I've never heard about 7-p games, either; one of my other games is for 5-players and since 2013 we've managed to play like 90 turns; go figure.

I just wonder, because this is the last active place for SMAC fans, were there any finished games that involved more then two players? How about two players? ;) Just asking, I find it interesting. Because we can make a SMAC history if we remain dedicated to the game hahahaha :D

Blind research will be the most difficult thing to manage...

* Random quote

Now it's day and night the irons clang, and like poor galley slaves
We toil and toil, and when we die, must fill dishonored graves
But some dark night, when everything is silent in the town
I'll shoot those tyrants one and all, I'll gun the flogger down
I'll give the land a little shock, remember what I say,
And they'll yet regret they've sent Jim Jones in chains to Botany Bay.
