@Kirov : Courage for your fight. I heard Duda stopped the controversial laws with a veto, but I'm not familiar with Politics of Poland, so I'm not sure if it's really significant. In France, the President has a lot of powers, but it's not the same in Poland if I understood right.

Thanks! ;b;. The President is actually a puppet (we have more of a PM-oriented system anyway), so nobody expected those vetoes. They actually prevented next free election from being hijacked, at least for now. The short story is, we're going through something akin to the US' 'rebellion of angry white men', those hung out to dry in the course of neo-liberal reforms. Too many people around here toil in Mcjobs for next to nothing and still are expected to be grateful that it's not communism anymore. Yet another story of neo-liberalism paving way to dictatorships, I guess. But I can assure you that Poland is not Hungary, Turkey or Russia, where the dictator-in-the-making enjoys support north of 60%. On the contrary, no matter what they do, the ruling Law and Justice cannot break the 40% ceiling. The opposition here is much stronger, people are actually used to be in some kind of resistance for literally generations (that's literally what we do around here), and the fight for democracy will be very bitter. The current mood in Poland is of a civil war, but I have no doubt that we will prevail. The main concern at the moment is Poland being driven out of the EU, which would be an epic political disaster, and I hear that Emmanuel Macron has little patience for trouble-makers, a sentiment I find understandable. But we need to deal with first things first. I'm actually going out in a few minutes to take part in a blockade of a neo-fascist demonstration.

Turned on.

Hi guys, there is one thing I need to explain. You see, as I already mentioned, since my unfortunate transition to Win10, my SMAX copies stopped working. With a little help from this forum, I managed to fix some of them, but NOT the one we’re currently playing (Yitzi 3.4b). So I started to use Yitzi 3.3 (a couple of turns ago) until it gets fixed by the boys in the other thread here. However, as you probably noticed, there’s a big problem with Yitzi 3.4b – when you select a tile with enemy units, you can’t examine them in the lower bar (it’s empty). I’ve been pissed at it since we started the game, but never got round to actually complain/fix it.

However, now that I went back to Yitzi 3.3, which doesn’t have this bug, I decided that I’m not even trying to go back to 3.4b. In fact, I’d recommend to all of you to switch to 3.3 (I don’t want to have any tactical advantage over you, even minor). The missing examine option runs counter to the original SMAX experience and I was very specific, back when Yitzi introduced his first iterations, that I won’t accept any modifications to the game design, i.e. I go only with bug fixes and additional optional features in alphax.txt. Simply put, Yitzi 3.4b is not the SMAX I agreed to play, which is why I consider my first agreement in the setup thread void. It is 3.4b which violates game rules and all the time we used it we were in breach as well, however absurd this sounds.

Guys, I’m sorry, but I can’t play 3.4b (due to Win10) and I don’t want to. I would like to ask you and strongly recommend than we all switch back to the most recent version which a) works on my rig, b) is true to the game design.

Granted, for a long time Yitzi patches unintentionally have modified yet another game rule (the faction borders now cross water, something which wasn’t there in the original SMAX), but I don’t see how this would be a major concern anytime.

I'm sorry I didn't post the info about sunspots, I believe they hit in my turn.

I've never heard about a rule introducing diplomatic silence during sunspots (probably because you'd never be able to monitor it), so talking is fine. In fact, I've already done it, so feel free.

And the turn. Like I mentioned, played with 3.3.

We are not on 3.4b but on 3.4 (3.4b came after the start of this game) and I have no problem watching the characteristics of enemy units when I click on it (left-click and not info-tile). Also I don't see borders expanding at sea.
You probably updated during another PBEM.

It's not clear which changes 3.4 introduced over 3.3 so I'd like to keep my 3.4: now that I am accustomed to it, I wouldn't like to see strange things happening.
