I'm super sorry for the delay. Just today I wanted to finally play the turn, only to find out that my recently installed Win10 won't start the goddam game. Did any of you possibly run into a similar thing? I posted a thread here:

My deepest sorries in the history of sorries. A number of things have contributed - busy RL, periods of sickness/bad health, somewhat of a general crisis with SMAX, and I'll be honest with you - this game is sometimes a drudgery, what with my feeling that every turn, I'm nudged 1 inch closer towards the inevitable defeat, constantly building and losing units ad nauseam. It was fun to nevertheless do my best in the better times, in the worse times it became a nuisance. If I'd done my turn 2 weeks ago, I'd probably have just tried to sabotage my own game in order to lose faster. However, no excuse is sufficient so please accept my apologies.

Oh, and I forgot - my brand new Windows 10 doesn't accept SMAX. The game just won't start, and I tried a lot of things, from compatibility modes to another ini file borrowed from a friend of mine. Until I fix this, I need to use my old PC, rewire the monitor and peripherals to it and play the game. This obviously won't help with my turn rate in the future. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I can't even recall the last time I held a turn for no reason for so long. Certainly never happened on this board. Guess there's first time for everything, but I do feel ashamed. I'll do my best to get back on the track, hope you didn't lose your focus, too!

*sigh* You just won't believe what happened. No, this time it wasn't your run-of-the-mill RL issues, but rather a grassroots somewhat-of-a-rebellion in Poland, where the ruling right-wing populist party made an attempt to dismantle democracy and take control over the independent judiciary. The entire country took to the streets in the most massive protests since 1989. We're fighting tooth and nail and while I hate being pompous, the situation is really that the democracy is Poland is at stake. Partial victories are made but they're not enough and the resistance continues. I'm spending 6-8 hours per day on the streets, neglecting all the RL stuff I'd invoked earlier on, and I'm super tired already.

So there you go. I bet this is something you didn't expect.

You can imagine that this puts playing SMAX in perspective. However, I did my turn, if somewhat absent-minded. Please forgive the delays to follow and my raw responses to PMs. Obviously, I have no idea when this whole mess ends. I'm really sorry for that.

I forgot to add - my reload took place after one obvious combat (my A4 vs. defender's D1). Somehow my monolith investigation was auto ON (maybe inherited with the turn), which stopped my unit and this was a very crucial thing to my tactics, so I allowed myself to reload. The re-rolled combat looked largely the same, as you can imagine. I'm sorry, but I just couldn't afford to lose that unit movement for such a reason at this stage of the game.

@Kirov : Courage for your fight. I heard Duda stopped the controversial laws with a veto, but I'm not familiar with Politics of Poland, so I'm not sure if it's really significant. In France, the President has a lot of powers, but it's not the same in Poland if I understood right.
