Aquatic Team Secession AAR Game - 3 players needed
« on: November 30, 2014, 11:04:20 PM »
I'm looking for three more players to join in a team succession AAR game, like Final Doom and Fight for the Future.

They're not quite as competitive as the usual games around here since the AI controls your empire for a significant portion of the time and your foes can read about what you're doing, but they progress vastly quicker and produce something for everyone else to read as well as presenting an interesting new challenge: fixing the AI's mistakes, and trying to organize things to prevent future ones.

The next one will be a full scenario I'll design. Two teams of two, with three powerful AI. Faction choices will be the Oceanic Pack (currently unfinished), aquatisized versions of all human factions (I will review for balance, some may be OP in water), and aquatisized versions of the Sigma pack (also will be reviewed for aquatic balance). Other custom factions, even ones created specifically for the game, are allowable if I consider them balanced (Sigma or another player will check my faction), request and I'll let you know my thoughts on their aquatic balance, maybe run some test games.

You'll be expected to play your round of 15 turns and post the AAR segment within three days of the save before you being posted, after which either your ally will play for you or your turn will be skipped and played by AI. We'll make an exception for the christmas-new year period, with no deadlines from 24th-2nd.

Most specific rules are undecided, I'll go with the majority choice, but it'll be pretty standard.

First come first served, but post even if you're late to be a substitute since some people may drop out. If you'd prefer a specific ally, let me know. Also if you could post which factions you're considering asap it would be cool, then I can focus my balance checks on them and have time to run more simulation games to make sure the AI don't just kill us all to fast or anything like that. Probably starting this whenever the current game finishes, which i'd guess will be 1-3 weeks from now, depending on how fast people play.

Players:

1. ete
2. BlueFlux (possibly, depends on free time when we start)
3.
4.

I don't think I should sign up for this. I wasn't able to faithfully do Fight for the Future consistently so far.
Will watch it though.
Left the internet, more-or-less.... Might drop in occasionally.

I'll put you down as a maybe, see how much free time you expect to have around the time we start? It'd be cool to have you in if you feel like you'll be able to play usually within a few days.

Good idea, though perhaps he'd prefer a more standard game (as in land based).. I'd rather see a land based game of his AARd than a sea one actually, feel like I'd learn more from that, so maybe will try him for the game after.

A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions ? if only we lived in one.
