Is it possible to upload a personal avatar or do you have to choose from the existing ones (or ask BUncle to add your own to the public ones)?

EC can be earned by posting (1EC each post) and starting new threads (5EC each new thread)

I'm definitely going to upload a full(er) set of SMAC(X) avatars, but lately, I'm as busy as a satyr at the Playboy mansion.  But it is going to happen one of these days, in consultation with my partner, and those official ones are free to put on -or change, I think- at no charge.

Naturally, I will take requests for custom avatars.  Here is good as anywhere...

EC (energy credits) are displayed in post bits under the number of posts you made.
EC are earned by posting but can also be gifted.

I haven't really thought of what I was going to do for an avatar yet. I was going to google some stuff eventually, and was probably going to do something completely random(like the 777 I got from the slots) or something funny off of google. If you want to take the time to make something for me though I will use it. If you were hoping for a more specific idea, well like I said I didn't really think about it yet.

I just want to remind everyone that AC2 official, pre-installed avatars, especially the SMAC(X) ones, like the custom faction one I'm wearing, are free.  You can put them on the second you register, or change them, without spending posting energy credits.  It's only if you want something we don't have, say, of Angelina Jolie in Cyborg II, for an avatar that you have to compile 200 EC.

Now, if there's anything, anything Alpha Centauri you want that isn't already installed, let me know; it's highly unlikely that I don't already have it made. 

So don't run around the forum nekkid; that's gross.  Throw on an avatar.  Please.

Hmmm.

Okay, I've thought it over, and new policy until such time as a lotta people are earning enough EC, or my partner says otherwise:  I'll hook you up with what you want, avatarwise, gratis, no strings attached within forum rules and some standards of decency.  Just post and ask - providing a pic to avatarize, or an actual avatar, would be nice, too.

Also, I recently uploaded every SMAC(X) avatar I have to the free User CP selection -that's a LOT more than before- and more are coming as I cycle through my build queue.

The system is set up as it is for some good reasons; we want people in SMAC(X) avatars for a preference, and we want to motivate activity, which earns you EC to buy custom Avatars.  But it's not right for a forum with me in it to have a lot of people running around nekkid.  For now, I'll just take care of anyone who asks.
