To be fair, a lot of sci-fi concepts aren't anything new. The Zerg and Starcraft 2 in general are rips of Warhammer, and Warhammer has inspirations from Starship troopers and other series before it. Originality is fine, but ideas evolve, are re-used and changed.

I am curious as to what the first picture applies to though... supremacy path? Purity? If there is any information on what these units or things are, please post.

Doesn't matter.  The original starcraft campaign was the BOMB.  EVERYONE should play it once in their life.  It should be part of the eduction system, like Shakespeare.  It's like a how to do a sci-fi western epic.  When I heard that the second one involved some sort of political commentary (propoganda) for the modern American quest for democracy (because dictatorship is bad) I thought they were out of their minds.  But of course most Americans are out of their minds, it's why they still believe in their system and do not worship our father Gagarin.

Battlesuit is a mid-game tough melee shock unit. It's the first unique unit available for the Purity affinity (requires level 4 in Purity).
As all unique units, it can be upgraded later, along the different affinity paths:
- True Battlesuit available at Purity level 12
- Evolved Battlesuit available at Purity level 10 & Harmony level 2
- Prime Battlesuit available at Purity level 10 & Supremacy 2

Here's an in-game shot of the 'Design Workshop' (CivBE version):

Let's take a closer look at some more units :

This is the 'settler' a.k.a. 'colony pod' for AC fans (click to enlarge):

The file name reads 'fortress' but i think 'LEV Destroyer' is the name of this late game unit which uses the floatstone special resource to levitate. In SMAC terms it's a heavily armoured gravship (click to enlarge).

Here we have some of the local fauna. Dunno about you, but i will sorely miss the mindworms (click to enlarge):

That last picture is a pretty old version of the flora and fauna in BE.

You're totally right. That artwork was one of the first images released to the press.

Do they affinities involve more than what unit you unlock?
