captured ship designs in sea base replaced with a scout
« on: September 28, 2023, 05:07:46 AM »
I mind controlled a sea base from the Pirates.  2 of the captured ships were these pathetic early synthmetal designs.  They were specific to the Pirates as they had the Marine designation.  I had way too many units to support in the captured base, so I took a nearby Usurper base, to end their willingness to make war on me.  That would leave me a free hand to deal with the Pirates, and hopefully keep the Usurpers from stealing from me for a bit.  I wasn't worried about them mind controlling my sea bases, because I had +3 PROBE, but I didn't have enough foil probe teams to cover the bases at the moment.

I moved the 2 pathetic ships into the captured base and Homed them there for support:

now you see ships
now you see ships

The next year, the ships were gone and instead there was a scout!  I only discovered this 2 years later.  I think the game recycled the unit design.  Somehow attached to the Pirates, and I didn't have any other ships fitting this description.  Odd that the units were substituted 2 for 1 though.  Why not 2 scouts?

perfectly valid way to walk the oceans

Boy I'm just coming up with all the juicy bugs lately.  What am I doing right?  Anyone seen this before?  Does Scient's Patch deal with it?

Begin with a function of arbitrary complexity. Feed it values 'sense data'. Then, take your result, square it, and feed it back into your original function, adding a new set of sense data. Continue to feed your results back into the original function ad infinitum. What do you have? The fundamental principle of human consciousness.
