Matthew threatens East coast

Depending on next Three days, looking to just brush the coast to striking anywhere from south Florida to Cape Hatteris (sp).

The storm is a monster Cat 4, but is expected to slow due to mountains of Is of Hispanola (Haiti & Dominican Republic).  Next few days will tell.

Hit cat 5 just before Haiti, then Haiti slowed it down back to a 3 or 4, depending on who you listen to.  either way, will be a wet east coast soon enough.

It is currently looking like it is going to hit on the Cape, about 45 miles away from me.  Then it looks like it will act like any tourist, visits the Space Coast and then Comes back to see Disney World (giant loop-de-loop)...

I'm a bit worried about what this is going to mean for the kittens at the base of that tree when we start getting fringe rain tomorrow or Friday.  I think the hole will drain fine, but there's no shelter to speak of, and they will get wet.  If it doesn't warm up, we may have to do something that will upset Cloud...

Yes, more or less, to both questions.  I'm in the upper Catawba river valley, bordering the mountains on one side and the piedmont on the other.

We seem to be between rain bands this morning.  It's quiet after yesterday.  There is a little wind.
