Mostly because I never discovered the multiple attacks before I got my playing habits set -I go back to the year of SMAC's release- and the range isn't impressive, but the damage when you go past it is.  I pretty much don't use aircraft at all before antigrav chasis.

Thats a lot of years!
I usually build cities as far into enemy land as I can, then range is enough to empty a city, drop a skydiving policeman, and hop in the city with my helis. Next turn = next city. (If a city is ever too far, then there is def. room for another city ;) )If that fails though I end up with a lot of badly bruised helis. The worst is when I have a lot of copters with 1 move left and an empty enemy city next to them and Then I figure out that I only Thought I still have an unmoved drop unit left.

Adding last turn again, so the Lady doesn't get lost in the jungle of posts ;)

As in worms/etc. you build?  I haven't noticed a difference from captured ones.

Regular non-Planetlife units definitely capture more and kill less, if you've got the Planet rating to capture.  I wouldn't care to try to put numbers to the difference myself, but you could post in TOE and ask Dio to look for the relevant .exe code...

I continue to look at the code as we speak. I would also like to point out that Yitzi spoke of this formula in the following thread. http://alphacentauri2.info/index.php?topic=6536.0

Thanks Dio! That is a very interesting thread. Now if only there was a Manifold Nexus anywhere close :)

Quote
-The attacker must have at least one movement left, so no hasty attacks.  This applies even if the attacker is a native life form, which does not take an attack penalty on hasty attacks.
This sounds like the explanation for the perceived lower capture rate of worms vs. normal troops.

20 years on Planet and the power graph appears. Exciting!

And ... oh dear. It's not good news for Wimpy Green Economics or the Iron Fist of Social Order. Quelle surprise  :)

Exciting indeed, it looks familiar for the current stage of settlement, at least I have seen worse. Esp. the pitiful Fanatics fill me with malicious joy, we tend to get along outstandingly terrible. I bet they get a beating by the nerds. (its not like we get along any better, so that might backfire sooner or later)

Miriam gets such a bad press. I bet she's really nice when you get to know her   ;cute

For some reason she prefers death over serfedom (prob. believes in all that afterlife nonsense), so she is not making it particularly easy to get to know her more generous side.
Recent discovery of a sonar pod (as if that isn't bad news enough by itself) has revealed that the newfound landmass seems to be indeed connected to my neighbours stomping grounds. Now I have to make sure nothing is leaking to the press, I'd rather have my citizens dream of peace for a little longer.

No-one more adept than you at information and population control Chairman. I have every confidence in you  :)

Miriam is a lost soul. :ahem:  But I bet if you moved in next door she'd give you a cup of sugar. Let's think positive!

She sure would, but I bet she'd do so only for the sake of making my teeth rot.
Well I have some practice, I like my citizens happy and productive and nothing makes people happier then having nothing to worry about.  I must admit, I admire your treehuggers at times, if I let my people run loose like that they immediately begin smashing things, nothing wrong with that, if its directed towards enemy lands, but it is tedious to replace all those burned down entertainment facilities around here. For now everyone behaves, lets keep it that way.

I sense a darkness in you, Friend Chairman.

Our followers love trees and hug them often. They would never dream of smashing anything. Well, other than very very *bad* people of course, and only if they absolutely had to.

We love to see the good in everyone and everything. Have you considered walking in the Green Way?

It is often in the darker hours of the day when the more fruitful thoughts come along, so I take that as a complement.
Walking the Green way? I will  plant some Trees if that is what you mean, other then that I believe there is a myriad of urgent tasks that can't be delayed by being overly attentive towards the wellbeing of the planet.

Okey dokey Friend Chairman. I dare say your mania for social control and our love of Planet will complement each other perfectly, given time and, er, a lot of *positive* thinking. :D

This sounds like a promising friendship indeed.
Quite surprisingly the new found landmass appears to be a separate island after all, with the hint of a long coastline. Now that is some good news.

We have reached an informational threshold which can only be crossed by harnessing the speed of light directly. The quickest computations require the fasted possible particles moving along the shortest paths. Since the capability now exists to take our information directly from photons traveling molecular paths, the final act of the information revolution will soon be upon us.
