Seeing as my neighbour Prime Function (a jolly good fella if occasionally a probe rapist) completed his CDF, my lads, my craft-beer-sipping, guacamole-eating, Segway-riding, ironic-moustache-sporting Pirates decided to chip in and buy me a nice Maritime Control Center for my birthday. This will come in handy with our "To Pursue & Harass" doctrine.

Also, we couldn't help but notice a sudden drop in everyone's powergraph except for Lord Vishniac's. Could it be that he's just prototyped some fancy wunderwaffe? If so, congratulations to Lord Vishniac!

Nothing noticeable on my side but the Captain lost a few population points. That could explain.

A general question concerning the Maritime Control Center: of all factions, the Pirates are the ones getting the smallest advantage of building it. Is +2 naval moves really worth the minerals then?
I was wondering whether you would build it or not; I guess it's self-answering then but it could be more a "SP by default".

Oh, I believe that the MCC is a powerful, and vastly underestimated, tool in the hands of any hybrid player. The Naval Yard is negligible, but +2 move means more effective probe teams, better scouting and smoother transport logistics. In short, any aggressive player worth their salt should have an eye on the MCC. Which is why I took it - for denial value. We don't want it to fall into the hands of our powerful, "assertive" neighbours, now do we? Fortunately, a tragedy has been averted. Don't mention it.

For reals, though, the MCC is powerful if used and used wisely. ;)

More of a denial move then.

I up the thread in case Bin Travkin looks at the last poster's name.

Guys, I'm afraid I'm gonna need a couple of days more with this turn. Sorry for that.

I'm really sorry for the delay, I was quite busy in RL and I knew that this turn was going to need my full focus.

Gentlemen! In the recent weeks, my frontier troops were many times put 'on alert' when they spotted an airborne unit on their radars. Since we're quite sure that as of now, noone has any air forces to speak of, this can only mean that the Drones sent their choppah (which we'd seen before) on recon incursions into our territory. This is a direct violation of our border no-go demands, which we expressly stated to the Drones, fearing that they will go down the path of the Cyborgs.

Nevertheless, this they did. And as previously, we felt compelled to retaliate with a FULL-ON NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST!!!  ;nuke; ;nuke; ;nuke;

Sadly, we have no nukes yet. Barring that, we went with the next best thing - conventional warfare - and eliminated several Drones units. The further scale of the conflict is up to both parties.

Oh, even I am not that hypocritical - it's also about money; I'll go out and say that I was surprised, insulted and threatened by the Drones' hasty attempt to encircle us and beat us to the alien spoils of war (how many units have you thrown at their HQ, Foreman?). We arrived at the alien territory in the times when the Foreman lamented his dire situation. How could I know it was just a ruse and he was in fact in a pretty good shape all along? At any rate, it is us who pushed the aliens at great cost and as their conqueror and as the Captain of the Pirates of Chiron, I hereby rightfully claim any territory held previously by the so-called 'Caretakers'. I have a beef with the aliens and will personally see to it that every one last of them is dead. In fact, most of them already are. I'm afraid I can't let anyone stand between me and their wealth and blood. I hope you understand - it's a Pirate thing.

So now it comes to this: men killing men on an alien world.
A sad day...

The popular stereotype of the researcher is that of a skeptic and a pessimist. Nothing could be further from the truth! Scientists must be optimists at heart, in order to block out the incessant chorus of those who say: It cannot be done.
