On our forum they have the function of thread prefixes.

@Buncle: take a look at the icons attached. the askforhelp.gif is not so sharp as the original .jpeg. can you do something about it? i want the question mark more visible like the exclamation point maybe..

I've rooted around and found that; I can't guarantee it'll look like much at the size we need, but I'll do one up as a sample...

I dunno; it looks nice enough, but the border and the SMACness maybe doesn't stand out enough.

drop the border. the text make it bold and brighter.
