Do table-top wargames from the 80's count as retro?

Well, yes, but one of them controls like crap.
Now list 3 and you have a really good shot of getting it right.

Okay.
One of them is Sonic Spinball.
Now you don't need to know anything but english numerals.

You tell me.
Huh, this is really stupid.
Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic Spinball (spinball is a loose cart)
There was also this one game I knew nothing about that was a loose cartridge. I almost got it for $4.
The only thing is that I had to use 6 cue tip ends to make Sonic Spinball work. 6!

Have you tried pencil erasers?
And rubbing alchohol?
No.

Also, upon hearing that I had gotten a Genesis I got a free Atari 2600 from my uncle. And there was a copy of River Raid in it.
That makes me happy.
But it was even filthier than Sonic Spinball.

There was an off-brand fantasy game, something about a tree, that I was very fond of, and a war game, I think the name was Desert Fox...

I think you're thinking of Desert Commander.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Commander

Fond of that, but my favorite wargame on the NES was Conflict.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_%28video_game%29

HEXASOURYOKUSEN  In case anyone has a copy and needs to access the hidden last level.  (from memory, might be a SLIGHT misspelling somewhere.)

Yeah; that's the one.  I reinvented the pike square playing that, only with artillery.

Although Planet's native life is based, like Earth's, on right-handed DNA, and codes for all the same amino acids, the inevitable chemical and structural differences from a billion years of evolution in an alien environment render the native plant life highly poisonous to humans. Juicy, ripe grenade fruits may look appealing, but a mouthful of organonitrates will certainly change your mind in a hurry.
