I'l repeat somewhat for the benefit of onlookers, because you deserve public praise and not just private, that this is one of the very finest stories ever to come out of the GotM team - and the others were written by native speakers of English and had more help from each other. 

Very impressive - nuanced, smart, storytelling.  You gave us a Deirdre who rang true.  You made the fate of minor character Alexander an effective moment.  And - I just reread the ending, and my eyes are literally still moist as I write this, ten minutes later.  That takes a masterfull ending to a story I've been over so many times, going back two years now.  I am in AWE of your talent, sir.

I generally liked it. You knew how to switch the mood and tone of the story as well in a very quick pace, and it really puts some perspective for both factions to imagine how their society is like to extents.
