PBEM starting thread.


This is experimental game start. With scarcity of CMNs, I think, that looking for ways to start multiplayer games with just players is some way to go. From what I have recently tried, this seems so far to be a good way:
1) Someone prepares a scenario for multiplayer game, having in mind, that any faction can be played by human or AI. So faction placement should be neutral, as far as possible. Scenario is posted on the forum, or in another way made available.
2) Players after some time, even without presence of scenario creator can take this scenario and play multiplayer game.


- Since scenario creator may not be available at the time of game start, practically the map has to be known to all players. After all, everyone can download the scenario and analyse it.
- The first player would have some "advantage" (if we can call it that way) over the remaining players down the factions list, because he/she could secretly modify scenario file before starting the game. Players would need to trust such player.
- This way of starting a game is almost exactly like just starting a generic game, but SMACX is so awful in preparing games, that drawback of public scenario may be acceptable to many players.
- This may be advantage though: Such scenario may be used multiple times. For example several player groups may play it. Or the same player may want to play such scenario again with some other group of players, if they agree on this.

How to start:
- After players gather and decide who plays which faction, the first player has to start new multiplayer game from a scenario, adding all human factions.
- The first player plays the first turn, then saves it at the prompt for password for the second human player.


Maybe not many people were starting a game in this way, but it should be pretty straightforward.

The scenario was made with Yitzi patch 3.5d, I added the info to the first post.
Also fixed the image, now I remember, that the address to Google drive has to be special.

Have you tried the scenario? multiplayer? or singleplayer?

Delgadonut appeared to be a DL of another adjacent signup -same Bangkok ip- which also made a couple sketchy ESL posts overnight and also smelled of bot or human spammer probably coming back to edit in a sigspam link later.  Neither is with us anymore, much as I hate to risk banning a human who means to participate...
