Another question thread
« on: August 20, 2015, 05:39:50 PM »
Hi, again.  I continue to appreciate your'alls patience and help.  I have run into some more questions.

1:    Where does the energy generated from commerce go?  Does it immediately go towards the economy output of a base, does it count as other energy income at the base (say from a borehole), or does it contribute in some other fashion?

2:   On the energy (F3) screen in the list of bases and their economy output and maintenance costs, is commerce included?

3:  When the data links say "For each pair of bases, sum the combined economic output and divide by eight, rounding up " is the "economic output," total energy collected, the amount that goes towards economy after all bonuses, or something else?

4:  If two factions research planetary economics, does this increase the game wide economic tech count by 1 or 2?

5:  In the base overview screen, is there a simple method by which ties between bases are broken in the listing of the best bases?

6:  In the same screen how are garrison rankings calculated?  Is it a simple count of the number of military units or is something else used (such as the sum of the weapon or armor strength (whichever is larger) of the units)?

7:  In the same screen how are infrastructure ranking calculated?  Is each facility worth 1 or its maintenance or by some other method?  Do secret projects count towards this ranking?

8:  Is the best energy base the one producing the most energy before allocation to the different spending areas or the base contributing the most towards economy?

Counts as other energy income; this is why  ;morgan; is actually a really good peacetime researcher (under ideal circumstances, better than  ;zak;, though  ;aki;'s EFFIC bonus means she's better than even that under ideal circumstances).

I'm pretty sure it is.

Total energy collected.

Neither.  As far as I can tell, that formula is wrong, and in fact TotalCommerceTech is the number of economic techs in the game, include those that have not yet been discovered.

No idea, but probably whichever was built first.

Pretty sure it's most energy before allocation.

Thank you, as always Yitzi.

I thought that Morgan was a good researcher because of the per square energy bonus and commerce did not occur to me.  I appreciate your insights.
