Actually Bavaria became part of Germany in 1870 IIRC. But at the same time it remained "Kingdom Bavaria" until 19-something.
Right.  I'm working from casual memory.  We're actually down to quibbling over technicalities...

Could've sworn the text in that post was a bit different at the time I posted... ;cute
[shrugs] I may have edited for clarity after you saw but before you posted.

Germany wasn't a real country until the treaty of Versailles; it was a linguistic/cultural/region label, mostly under the wildly-fluctuating Holy Roman Empire -which lasted until the early 1800s- and got divided between the Prussian Hohenzollerns and the Austrian Habsburgs when the HRE went away.

Like much in life, it's complicated...

Have you ever wondered why clouds behave in such familiar ways when each specimen is so unique? Or why the energy exchange market is so unpredictable? In the coming age we must develop and apply nonlinear mathematical models to real world phenomena. We shall seek, and find, the hidden fractal keys which can unravel the chaos around us.
