Looking for Player(s) for some PBEM(s) with a quirk
« on: February 12, 2016, 08:03:08 PM »
Hi,

since I come to realise that my active PBEM goes slower than I anticipated I'd like to start another game simultaneously.
I hope for a fat turn rate in the early-game but I'm totally fine with an average 1 turn/day in the mid- and late-game.

However since I like to shake things up I'd love to play a round with ONE of the following quirks:
  • no Terraformers - terrain improved by AI or unitypods may still be used open
  • no supply crawlers - stolen crawlers must be cashed in asap open
  • no building of Secret Projects - SPs stolen from the AI(or another player) may be kept open
  • no Social Engineering open
  • no bribing of AIs for Votes AND must Abstain every time in planetary Council open
  • no probe teams open
  • no hab complexes open
  • no more than 5 bases - you have to destroy any excess bases if you conquer or steal them game in progress
  • no treaties or pacts open
  • no tech trading - comm-frequencies and maps may still be traded open
  • no communication at all (must ignore every call) open

If someone is interested to try one of these out I'd be happy to set up a game. I really like random settings, but that is because I'm fine with almost any setting, so if you want a specific setting, just say it, chances are that I'll be 100% fine with it.
I usually tend to play quite cooperative, but I'm fine with a regular game as well. I'm not interested in a match where one only tries to eliminate the other human players without keeping an eye on the AIs.

If you are interested in such a game Post here!

Hi Eadee

I'd be interested in a five-base game and as I'm not working it's easy for me to be on-line for a while at an agreed time to play through a few early turns. It's good to be able to get into a game and play a bunch of turns in a block.

Hi Misotu,
thanks for your reply. Sounds great.

Any Settings you want to predefine? If not I'll set up a standard sized random game thinker difficulty.
And what Faction would you like to play?

Gaia please, I'm enjoying playing them at the moment   :)

My playing style sounds similar to yours - not interested in early rush and so on. Could I ask for average native life - I'm fine with random everything else.

I usually play blind research nowadays to give the AI a chance, although that can be quite hard in MP. Up to you. I prefer bell curve for no random events, I like pods because they are fun and I like look first for settling my HQ but if you want other settings I don't mind as long as I know what they are  :)

Okay, I can't find a way to set native life to average and the other stuff to random in a PBEM-game (it would work in an IP -game since there is a nice setup-screen).

If you know how to do it on a PBEM-game please tell me, else I'll just roll a die to determine the other settings and state them right here.
I prefer Blind Research and Look First, so those are fine. Bell Curve is too since I don't have a strong oppinion about it :)
A game without unitypods would be really scary for me  ;lol so yes, we better keep those.

edit: I think I'll go with  ;morgan; or  ;lal;  not quite sure yet.

Ah, sorry yes. I've had a quick look and that's right   :(  Well average life forms and by all means roll a die for the other settings!
