Marvel Cinematic Universe

Ok...

Reading through all the D23 stuff...

Is anyone here going to be able to keep up with the MCU now that they are adding all this stuff to Disney+?

I mean, there's still a couple of the movies I haven't gotten around to, there's no way I'm going to be able to throw a few series in.

They announced WandaVision leads right into the next Dr Strange, so the series seem like they're going to actually connect to the movies now, unlike all the previous TV and Netflix series.

Frankly I was just ready to ignore the Disney+ stuff...and then the announced the Moon Knight series.  Apparently he's become popular enough now to warrant this action?  Which likely means it's the more recent take on the character which I haven't really read yet, but on the surface looks like a very simplified version...

At least for the time being, I'm MCU'ed out. Endgame was a nice cap to the last 10 years, and I've got that satisfied feeling after a big meal, but any more and, well, you start heading into "wafer thin" territory.

I think that it will likely go along the line of standard comics, where you have some people who are Mutant Fans, whom read and collect anything Mutant related, etc, etc.

Thing is, the media of TV/films can not provide a steady enough of a stream (like the Monthly Comics or yearly Graphic Novels can provide) to fully satisfy the fans.  And fan taste DO change over time and what might be popular now, might fade in a few years, then pick back up a decade later.
It's the reality of this kind of thing...

It seems they're trying to tie it all together, though.

If WandaVision series leads into Dr Strange 2, I would theoretically need to watch WandaVision to understand the start of Dr Strange.

I kinda told my kids, much like Lori, I'm kinda done with the MCU unless they really give me something to care about going forward.  However, I was very dissatisfied with Endgame myself, and the trailers for Spider Man made it look like they basically just hand waived it all. (have not seen Spider Man and don't plan to till it's free)

I burned out on the MCU circa Age of Ultron.  Incidentally, Uno, are you interested in the Zombieland sequel in a couple of months?

My default setting for horror-comedy is to see it in the dollar theater.  Mostly that way for straight up horror as well, with few exceptions.  I MIGHT see It part 2 first run.

Nope. Endgame was a mediocre to decent conclusion and I don't expect the entertainment value to hold up going forward. See also Star Trek, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars.

Technological advance is an inherently iterative process. One does not simply take sand from the beach and produce a Dataprobe. We use crude tools to fashion better tools, and then our better tools to fashion more precise tools, and so on. Each minor refinement is a step in the process, and all of the steps must be taken.
