I just thought to report the MP faction graphic bug to scient - it would be great if y'all MPlayers would go to the Bug Reports folder and report any MP-specific bugs you can think of.  You guys would know more about that than I...

-So now's your chance - scient will feel supported, the bugs will hopefully be fix, and everybody wins.

I don’t know unofficial patches very well, so I don’t know how many bugs have been already fixed, but if you find this document useful, please see attached file – these are PBEM rules (it’s from 2005 - it seems the time is going really fast...), where at least a part of the bugs is listed.
Great.  Yab, I hope you don't mind that I split off your post into its own thread in Bug Reports - that's where it belongs, and scient likes to keep bugs divided into threads to help keep track.  This thread is just to notify the MPlayers, who tend, alas, not to come out of the Mcave and track what's up in the rest of the forum.

I have a question - I understand that there's a specific bug that makes CMNs necessary for MP.  That's something scient should know about for sure, isn't it?  Is it covered in that attachment? 

In reporting bugs, it's better to be safe than sorry - and even when he/kyrub/Yitzi know about a bug already, discussion can ensue - our code modders often need bug tested out thoroughly for details, just as they need beta testing and feedback for patches.  Also, you can encourage them to fix bugs to work in ways that suit your needs - often, there's a choice of what way to go with a fix; that's especially crucial with Yitzi's outright modding.

Youse smart, meticulous MPlayers are just the sorta guys they need helping and discussing...

Actually, when there's substantial controversy I'll either go with the approach that does minimal changes, or else make it a choice via ALPHAX rules.

I played at least several games launched without CMN (both hot-seat and PBEM ones) and I don’t remember any additional issues, but the fact is, it was more than 10 years ago, so maybe I wasn’t able to catch them - we should better wait for the information from someone with not so rusty knowledge as mine...
