Title: Did you know...

1. When calculating ecodamage, tectonic missiles are treated the same as planet busters.
2. AI factions ignore all atrocities (and tectonic missiles) when calculating ecodamage.

Interesting. I wonder what the reasoning behind that is.

Come to think of it, I have never seen the AI build tectonic missiles. Any of you guys?

3. When calculating the benefits of satellites, a base without an aerospace complex has the total number of satellites halved, rather than having the final benefit halved.  Thus, if the number of satellites is at least twice the size of the base, there is no penalty for not having an aerospace complex (other than being unable to build satellites, of course.)
4. Minerals from Nessus Mining Stations do not count for ecodamage, but percentage boosts applied to those minerals (by Genejack factory, Robotic Assembly Plant, etc.) do count for ecodamage.
5. There is a bug in which if a base does not have an aerospace complex, Nessus Mining Stations can reduce its ecodamage.  (Specifically, the minerals lost due to not having an aerospace complex reduce its ground-based minerals, not its "from orbit" minerals, so a size 8 base with 8 Nessus mining stations and no aerospace complex would get 4 minerals that do not produce ecodamage and 4 of its existing minerals would also not produce ecodamage.)

Interesting stuff, thanks! Usually I don't remember that tectonic and fungal missiles even exist, let alone use them. :) So how does the fungal one behave eco-damage wise?

Useful info about satellites!  ;b; IIRC, the bonus from Bulk Matter Transmitter does count for ecodamage entirely, right? So it probably affects mins from NMS like the other min-boosting facs?

No effect whatsoever...it's like Planet doesn't mind when you spread fungus all over the place.

Indeed.

6. If (due to forests) your terraforming ecodamage is negative, that result is added to your mineral ecodamage, essentially reducing ecodamage from minerals.

Probe Teams can free captured faction leaders.

If you put more than 2 alien factions in, they are still always at war with each other?

I learned that playing here with an unfinished AAR with you guys.
