1380 research points in one turn from one base. No crawlers, boreholes, or energy parks. Almost (but not at all) worth losing all my OPTs in a solar storm for that. Faction is a custom one with free hybrid forest, which explains why I've turned everything into forest.

Edit: And, with a little SE tweaking (Eudemonic and 100% research), that's now 3154 points (or 3060 with 10% psych to flood with talents):

Actually, I'd already started here,  that was just my first save. Originally my island was not connected to the one below at all and Forrested Hills was a coastal base.

And after. I wished there was a automatic forest option quite a few times during this. Still, made a change from other forms of terraforming. Playing with custom factions is interesting.
