Title: Default Planet Tales to the RetroType theme?

-It's certainly appropriate, what with the typewriter read/unread symbols on the main index - but the posts are in Courier font, and I can see that getting old eventually.

I've set this board to Retro - the question being whether to set it to show for everyone or just for lurkers and people set to the old default setting that you can't get at anymore.

Shall we give it a trial run?  What say you?

Okay - I'm setting it to default for everyone.  For now.

Have to say, I'm not enamored, and it overrides selecting a specific theme on my end.

You'll be in SMAC everywhere but subs that override like this -all the others are subs are in Other Games- and I think the smudgy paper-texture background on posts in this theme is no good.  I'll be thinking on that, and make a change soon.

I like it on a personal basis, but it might drive new people away.

FWIW, the change correlates with lower daily readership for RtD.

I may have fixed the background, which may solve the problem - but the &^%$#@! broken hard refresh is balking me.  We'll see, in time.

Well, the white background is showing for me now - good enough, or should I go figure out how to make the post text a smidge bigger?

Aktully - I'm not in love with posts displaying in Courier, either; the charm of this theme is at the index and sub level w/ the typewriters and Courier logo and all, not reading anything long in an awkward serif font, which is probably taking the theme of the theme too far.

-Moby Dick doesn't work as anything if he doesn't work as a whale.

I reckon I'll go find the code that sets display font at the post level, and set it back to whatever the default uses.  It might be easy...

No - having trouble figuring out how to have "Verdana","Arial","Helvetica",sans-serif" at the post level, and Courier at the index levels.

This is gonna bug me until I figure it out - and not being to get the latest change to display immediately, is, as always, hamstringing prompt action...
