Hmm heres a question. Is there a way to have the computer play itself?

Tape down the enter key.  That's how they did test runs during development, for realz.

I think you get the option in the scenario editor? I recall a watch option I tripped by accident.

I remember something similar years ago, but now, I cannot remember also how to reproduce the effect.
It might be something with earlier game versions, and later possibly Firaxis changed something, cause in such case you could only stop it by terminating the program from task manager?

Then remains that way, when you skip your faction turn and having taped <ENTER> key, as Buncle suggested, you watch remaining 6 AI factions.
