Damn, we had an opening in a super epic game like for 3 months and got a replacement just a week ago. Right now my games are full but if you want a sparring, we can ask Mart for some simple map. How much have you been playing SMAC these years? I've been on this board for like two or three years now so I managed to recall a thing or two from the 'poly times. Feel free to hit me up if you need a warm-up and we'll be looking for experienced players once the 'Rising Sun' game is over.

If I remember correctly, the last time we all had been engaged in the same game was 2005 (Snail’s Pace). It would be nice to repeat it... :)

Would you like to take that back up?  We've got a bunch of CMNs around, but everybody's too busy much of the time -between babies and new jobs, MP goes leaderless sometimes, and we can always use a deeper bench.  I've been pleased by your activity and enthusiasm lately; you've been good for our community during a slow spell.

binTravkin, are you still there? There would be a replacement for you to fill. Yang, one turn in. With a special condition that you can't wight by conquest (vendettas between players not allowed). A weirdish map. Are you interested?

This has been done. I forgot the version - Yitzi's latest, I think it's 3.4 now. Remember that queueing stockpile doesn't do anything in this patch now.

Though later ones should (until you mod them) work the same as earlier ones except for bugfixes...I think one of the versions accidentally included some mods to the drone rules, though, so you'd have to revert those.  (Also, I'm keeping the original opening movie as default, just because it's so much better.)

Ok, I will try clean install (from GoG) + 3.3 and see how it goes.

Hopefully that's the right way to do it.

binTravkin, I may have one or two games for you:

1) Smoke and Mirrors is an HtH. You get CyCon against MallaxOZ's Morgan. It really starts with turn one, your predecessor didn't make a single turn. Yitzi's 3.3b, but I'm quite sure you can play with the latest. I'm the CMN with a pwd.

2) FTSA is a threesome. MY is 2199, you get Miriam (55 pop, ME, WP) against CyCon (49, NA, PEG) and Morgan (129, HGP, PTS, MCC, VW, CN). EG and CBA banned. You may find it an interesting challenge. Mart's our CMN. Yitzi'z 3.3b.

You asked about patches: apart from the latest unfortunate incident, Yitzi's patched don't affect the gameplay and should be interchangeable in theory. In case of any issues we could always try the most recent version. I was alwasy a bit slow to upgrade and it always worked just as well.

I just wonder about the discussion regarding patches in FTSA - Vishniac seems to have specially installed 3.3b.

It should be under help-version number or something like that in-game (though occasionally I forget to update that, but I think the latest is updated.)
