New official video preview
Some features never seen before:
- Rocktopus;
- Xenotitan attack;
- Supremacy aircraft;
- some secret projects (Cynosure and Archimedes) concept art.

It looks like a very good game with appeal to both the casual player and dedicated gamer. I suspect it will be further from the chess like aspects of of SMAC and the original Civilisation boardgame. But that partly depends on what degree of randomness the introduce to the game. I await with curiosity.

I am saying at this point this will be a BUY for me. Although I may hold off till someone like Quill 18 does a LP of it.

A lot of folks are basing purchases off of LPs nowadays.

Now, as much as I wanted to see a SMAX HD edition that just took our venerable game and updated it, I think this has enough additions I would love to have seen like more complex orbital layers and more native life. Anything I have issues with like these new leaders can be dealt with through custom leader mods. You KNOW that is going to happen. I will have Miriam in BE. Regardless of Firaxis scared of getting Christians butthurt.

One for the Modders methinks. Maybe a Muslim believer faction would have been more acceptable to the Christian right.

Probably one of the better LPers as far as 4x strategy games go. Currently, he specializes in Civ 5 and Europa Universalis, but is always trying  other 4xs. He gets lots of previews, too. You know he will get Civ:BE.

But yeah, I make purchases based on the more knowledgeable LPers and YT pundits. I find them better than the company previews and gamespot articles.
