I LOVE that tech tree...

It does not look like there is much of any bee line. The tech you need is situational.

I keep wondering if this web can have two separate focal (starting) points.

MIASMA

Sounds like Firaxis developers play Dwarf Fortress. This is only the second time I have heard the word "miasma". In that game, it was a purple cloud that would form around refuse or dead bodies laying around that would make things sick.

So, it seems a (voice) actress named Fryda Wolff (http://frydawolff.com/) voiced Beyond Earth.
Looks like she's the one who has to compete with the voices of Alena Kanka, Carolyn Dahl, Wanda NiƱo, and Gretchen Weigel. :D

I really think this is pretty durn cool. Only thing is, I am wondering if there is a way to get the exoplanet pack without preordering. I never preorder games because of day 1 patch issues and other travesties. I think the ability to radically change planets like one in the pack where the planet is tidally locked to its star and one side is temperate and the other a frozen wasteland is pretty cool.

From the descriptions of them, the mapscripts in the pack sound like slight variations of a number of existing maps in CiV. I'm pretty sure these maps will be available as a DLC buy at some point after the game hits retail.

I watched Episode II and CRINGED. His plays are so bad he makes that MadDjinn guy (corny play on 'magine) look good.

True, but he is a dev (not QA) and probably does not play obsessively like some here or on Civ Fanatics and is unfamiliar with many trick concepts.

Also, most of the youtube pundits that do previews are not Deity level Civ/4x players. They know enough to get the concept of 4x, but merely dabble. After all, they must do lots of previews and must do tons of video editing along with tight deadlines.

But I do not fault them. I suck, too. But I play this genre of games often enough that any 4x that comes out, I can crank it up pretty high difficulty (but maybe not highest) and survive a decent percentage. But I know folks that have trouble on chieftain level Civ!!!!

Pete Murray isn't a C:BE developer? I'd reckon a developer should know quite a bunch of wrinkles of the game he's working on.
